The bicycle is the most democratic means of moving available to humanity. It doesn’t cause wars, doesn’t pollute, and is good for body and mind.
For this Caterpillar – the programme broadcast by Massimo Cirri and Sara Zambotti, aired from Monday to Friday at 17.30 on Rai Radio 2 – decided to propose the bicycle as the next candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize.
wecity, the free app that rewards those who move sustainably, is able to calculate the CO2 saved while travelling by bike, on foot, by public transport and through carpooling. Over 15,000 users are using it throughout Italy. In a year of activity almost 200 tons of CO2 were saved by wecitizens activities, including 60% from cycling.
To contribute to the Bike the Nobel campaign, wecity asks its community to spread messages about their own bike travel, showing everyone how much CO2 they can save by pedalling.
How to participate
Create a bicycle trip. If you want, customize it with a themed photograph. After reaching the destination, share it on Twitter or Facebook with the hashtag #BikeTheNobel. It’s easy!
